Position: Outside Sales Consultant, Video Surveillance and Access Control Product Specialist

Classification: Full-time, exempt

Our team of sales consultants play a critical role in partnering with customers to increase safety and efficiency through communications, video surveillance and analytics, access control, and more!

We are currently seeking candidates for the role of Outside Sales Consultant, specializing in video surveillance and analytics.

Duties to Include:

As the customer’s trusted advisor, our sales consultants suggest solutions, not products, that will exceed expectations and deliver results. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Prospecting new accounts
  • Maintaining customer relationships
  • Promoting all of our product and service offerings
  • Keeping accurate records of activity

This role will serve as the expert for both Avigilon video surveillance and access control solutions. We are looking for an experienced sales professional who can start right away and work on existing opportunities. Tele-Rad has a robust camera system that will be available for you to utilize for customer demonstrations.

Your role will focus on commercial and public safety markets throughout western Michigan. All Tele-Rad sales consultants must be able to work throughout their assigned territory, which may vary from time-to-time.

Candidate will be expected to work on a full-time basis, provide an account of sales activities, and be available to colleagues, customers and vendors during normal business hours.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Possess ability to explain product features and benefits.
  • Exceptional time management and ability to prioritize.
  • Previous experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and business software programs.
  • Ability and willingness to use Google-based and Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with technology and/or security industry preferred
  • Tele-Rad, and our collaboration with Motorola Solutions, provides training and certification on products and sales skills necessary to succeed.

Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear, lift (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able and licensed to operate a motor vehicle.

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. In addition, sales consultants must be able to travel outside of the assigned territory for training, trade shows, or other sales-related activities from time to time.

Candidate must be able to pass a criminal background check and have an acceptable driving record. He/she will also be provided with personal protective equipment and will be required to use it appropriately and comply with customers’ safety standards and procedures while at their facilities.

Compensation:

Tele-Rad offers you a compensation package based on your experience and our expectations of your capabilities. The compensation for this position is based on a combination of base salary and commissions. The starting base salary for this position is $32,000-34,000.

Sales commissions are paid monthly and calculated based on gross profit of equipment sales. Our expectation is that your commissions, based on this structure, will be a substantial portion of your total pay. The average annual commission is approximately $15,000-35,000, but is not limited to a certain range or maximum.

Benefits:

Tele-Rad offers benefit plans to employees who are regularly scheduled to work 32 or more hours per week. These include employer-paid premiums for employee medical, dental, vision and group life insurance as well as opportunities for 401K participation, paid time off, and more. Additional eligibility requirements may apply, and these plans are subject to change from time to time.

At this time all outside sales consultants are issued a company cell phone and laptop computer to be used for work purposes. In addition, outside sales consultants are assigned a company vehicle and/or offered a stipend and mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use.
